Ms. Kay made Richmond her home in 1992 coming from many successful years in Florida. Her work in Florida included a Oceangraphic Facility called Harbor Branch for the Johnson and Johnson Family. In Richmond Ms. Kay has worked with The Restarant Company in renovating nine Arby's stores.

Ms. Kay has been a member of community organizations, Philanthropy by Design, Network of Enterprising Woman as well as a Board Member of the Virginia Chapter of The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

Ms. Kay is an artist as well as a photographer, her work has been in many juried shows; she has also written a monthly column on Interior Design for MD New Magazine.
